Pray The Vote

          Dear Prayer Member,

      For 25 years, The Presidential Prayer Team has faithfully answered a simple but powerful calling: to pray for our nation and for those who lead it.

      Through changing administrations, uncertain times, national challenges, and moments of great hope, one thing has remained constant — prayer matters.

      We believe God is sovereign. We believe He hears the prayers of His people. And we believe that, as Christians, we are called not only to pray, but also to faithfully steward the opportunities He has placed before us.

      Matthew 7:7 says, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”

      Those words remind us that while God is always in control, He still calls His people to ask, seek, pray, and act in faith.

      That is especially important as Election Day approaches.  Voting is more than selecting a name on a ballot. It is an opportunity to prayerfully consider the character, principles, policies, and issues that will affect our families, our communities, and future generations.

OUR MORAL CONVICTIONS SHOULD NOT BE SEPARATED FROM OUR CIVIC DECISIONS.

      Before casting a ballot, we encourage every Christian to pray, seek God’s wisdom, examine the issues carefully, and consider how the choices before us align with the biblical principles and moral convictions that guide our lives.

      We should ask ourselves what Scripture teaches about the value of human life, about truth and integrity, about justice and mercy, about marriage and family, about our neighbors, and about the society we leave to the next generation.

      In this election, that means asking whether those who seek office will uphold marriage between one man and one woman, the family as Scripture defines it, and the right to life of the unborn. Whether they will honor the church and protect the freedom of religion. Whether mothers and fathers will remain free to raise, educate, and train their children. And whether they will defend the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, as framed by leaders who feared God.

      The Presidential Prayer Team does not endorse a political party or a candidate. We do ask every believer to weigh those who seek office by these biblical, moral, and patriotic standards.

      Christians may not always reach the same conclusions about every candidate or policy. But we should never approach something as consequential as voting without prayer, discernment, and serious consideration of our biblical convictions.

      Our hope is not in a political party, a candidate, or an election. Our hope is in God. But trusting God’s sovereignty does not relieve us of the responsibility to faithfully use the opportunities He has placed in our hands.

Are you registered to vote?

      Millions of Americans who identify as Christians are either not registered or do not cast a ballot. That should cause us to consider whether we are fully using the civic opportunities entrusted to us.

THEN, AS YOU PREPARE TO VOTE:

      • PRAY FIRST — for God’s wisdom and discernment.

      • PREPARE FAITHFULLY — register, and learn about the choices before you.

      • GO VOTE — asking the Holy Spirit to lead your vote.

      TRUST GOD — with the outcome.

      And when the election is over, our responsibility to pray does not end.

      Regardless of who holds office, The Presidential Prayer Team will continue doing what we have faithfully done for 25 years — praying for the President, our nation’s leaders, and the United States of America.
